We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Desktop Support Engineer to provide essential support for our company’s hardware, software, and IT systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and enhancing desktop and network services to ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance for all employees. This is a hands-on role that involves diagnosing and resolving technical issues, managing IT assets, and providing user support across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to employees, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, printers, and peripheral devices.
- Support office productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Office suite, email clients, etc.) and company-specific applications.
- Set up and maintain local network connections, ensuring proper connectivity for workstations and devices.
- Assist with software installations, updates, and patches to ensure the security and functionality of systems.
- Resolve issues related to operating systems (Windows, macOS, etc.) and hardware components.
- Monitor and maintain the health of desktop systems through regular system checks, virus scans, and backups.
- Provide on-site and remote troubleshooting and support for end-users.
- Maintain accurate inventory records of IT assets, including computers, software, and other technology equipment.
- Collaborate with the IT team to implement and maintain security protocols for desktops and other end-user devices.
- Document all support requests, resolutions, and technical procedures for future reference.
- Assist with the setup and maintenance of conference room technology, video conferencing, and other presentation tools.
- Support IT projects and contribute to technology upgrades or improvements as needed.
- Perform other IT-related duties as assigned by the IT manager or supervisor.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience as a Desktop Support Engineer, IT Technician, or similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of desktop operating systems (Windows, macOS) and office productivity tools.
- Experience with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN) and network troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with hardware components and ability to diagnose and resolve hardware issues.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-oriented approach to user support.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of security protocols and IT best practices is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), or similar IT certifications are a plus.
- Experience with Active Directory, remote desktop management, or cloud-based applications.
